Do female Green Singers Sing?

Post by Chubbychickenbones » Wed Jan 18, 2017 3:01 pm

I keep reading that yes females sing and no they do not sing. Which is it? I also read they sing only for the first year.
Past:
Zebra's, Society, Saint Helena and two hummingbird sized ones that I do not know or remember names of.
Present:
Two Red Cheeked Cordon Bleu's. One male and female paired.
One Green singer

No, the females do not have a song, but they do chirp.

If you go on line, and look under male Green Singer Singing, you'll be able to listen to their song.

As others have said, only the males sing, with a lovely canary-like song.

Thank you. Isn't a Mule a hybrid? Are those links you gave me both males?

The male is a male, obviously

The mule is a hybrid mix, which is in most cases infertile.
In this case I'm not certain what this particular GS parent was crossed with, possibly a Canary, or maybe Grey Singer, it didn't specify. This one would be a male.
