Re: Question
Fraza
They should be fine. Some females may be reluctant to feed the babies once they fledge, but the begging will encourage them to do so.
Any hybrids you don't intend to keep should have a closed-ring band marked "HYBRID" so the new owners cannot pawn them off as "pure" birds.

Re: Question
Fraza
Bengi's and Zebras, can breed and produce young.
If the eggs are fertile and hatch, you will have hybrid babies, which should not be sold as pure bred.
Regarding the 2 female Zebras raising the young (if the eggs hatch), they should have no problems between the two of them.
By the way, welcome to the Forum from Canada.

Re: Question
Fraza As others have said, if the babies survive, they will be hybrids, and you should be careful about where they wind up. You don't want them diluting the pure pool of either species.

Re: Question
I thought this kind of hybrid was sterile.

Re: Question
Ricardo Ronsini
If the current classification holds up, they most likely are sterile, as the zebra finch and society finch come from different genera: Taeniopygia and Lonchura, respectively. If they came from the same genus, there is a decent probability that the hybrids would be fertile. (Ex. It's possible to get a fertile peregrine x gyr x saker falcon, since all come from the Falco genus.)
The main concern with infertile hybrids is someone selling the birds as pure and fertile to someone who wanted to breed them, thus ripping the buyer off. Marking them as hybrid will prevent all future vendors from doing this.

Re: Question
Oh right thanks for your reply sits I have only ever had two clutches these are my third and 4th now and she has laid another egg again five on counting now. And I have torched the eggs to see if they are real but I think it's two early yet as they are clear yellow and a dark yellow in the middle

Re: Question
Fraza You can usually start candling around day 5 or later. Here is a link to an article on eggs, including candling:
