Male to female ratio with zebras-help
From careful study of my 9 zebras in the 64 x 34 in flight I am sure I have at least 6 males and 3 females. There is some testy behavior going on such as running other males off perches and beak face offs. Two males and one female have trioed up and then two boys and then two boy and girl pairs. I moved one boy and girl pair to another cage and left the other 7 in the big flight but Do I need another female in there? Ty!!!

When you have birds, it's always a good idea to have equal numbers of males and females, most especially with species like Zebras, who tend to be territorial and somewhat aggressive at the best of times.
With more males than females, you will most definately run into trouble.

Re: Male to female ratio with zebras-help
lovezebs yep you should have equal because it can also increase infertile eggs and egg binding in the females as they are harassed by loads of males and it causes too much interference

Should I put the three females together in one cage and all 6 males in another?

I had no idea they would lay so many eggs so I think I want to separate boys and girls. Do u think that would be ok?
