Phaeos

Post by Raleighwheels » Mon Jul 23, 2018 4:51 pm

Hi guys,

I bred a male FF and phaeo female together and got those two. I'm wondering if the orange will become more prominent after their adult molts?

I'm pretty sure that they have already molted, so they are just going to stay like that.
Have a nice day!
Sincerely, Cathy

Hi@Raleighwheels theoricaly with that breeding combo you couldn't have Phaeo's but only
FFsplit for BB.
And yes it's so odd to have a ff with that cheek patches they should be red instead of that fade orange
Could be Fawn cheek factor is running there. Can u past pics of the parents

Still molting, but here's some recent pictures. What do you guys think? The male has some very light orange coloring on the top of his head.

nice birds there =D> the young male is stuning and cheeks are more red now . i suspect that one of the parents is only sfff as you got that grey hen mean sfff hen .
concerning the pheao you can have lots variant of this mutation i can say it depends directly on the kind of BB used witch can varigates from simple grey bb to full red headed BB .
i ll upload my phaeo pics asap i can say they were not same when some appears to be sim^le isabel other has very marked orange back and head
btw can u upload a pic of that male's tail bars
