My gouldian finch didn’t incubate for 8 hrs

Post by Sinoj1403 » Sat Nov 02, 2019 4:17 am

My Goulding pair is sitting on 5 eggs for last 6 days. Yesterday they came out at 11 pm due big noice outside the window and returned to nest only in the morning . They are back to normal and both hen and cock incubating the eggs now. Almost 8 hrs they didn’t incubate due to the disturbance. Is there any issues with this gap? My room temp is 25 Celsius and humidity is around 40%

Only one way to find out....let them continue to incubate.

I think at 6 days there should be enough embryo growth to candle and see a heartbeat if they are still viable....but you would risk scaring them off again unless they trust you.

I agree with keijikage. They will likely be lost if they were not kept at temperature for that long but there's always a chance.
