UPDATE:
We now have 2 eggs in the nest.

This is getting very interesting.

UPDATE:

I checked the nest this morning and early this afternoon. There was no 3rd egg.

I haven't heard of a 2 egg clutch and thought that they laid one every day until it was done. Normally, she was laying them either late at night or before sunrise each morning. If that is the case, she is way overdue for the 3rd.

When is it appropriate to start worrying?

Don't worry - sometimes they skip a day. Or she could be done. As long as she looks healthy and happy you should be fine.

UPDATE:

I just posted a message that there were only two eggs in the nest.
I just had the nest checked again. There are now three eggs, and the mother is sitting more often.

I feel much better now.

yay my finches have eggs again! their first clutch died because of ants!

wow Sandra is beautiful!! I can't wait to see what colours you get from that mating! Maybe Otis has some cool colours that he's split for!

Nice zebras! Your hen is a big bird! Keep us posted. I would be interested in seeing how large the babies will turn out.

They are pretty birds but I am concerned about the sandpaper perch covers--these don't help keep the nails short the way they are meant to, but they can lead to foot problems like pododermatitis (bumblefoot) which is not good. Basically they are considered useless at best and harmful at worst, so avian medical texts recommend removing/not using them. Just a tip:)
