Rufous-Backed Mannikin (Pics)
Well I had a time and a half with these vicious little fellows. I have not been able to put them with anyone. They chase and peck at every finch that I've tried them with. I even introduced them into the aviary, I had to pull them out after only a few hours. They had the whole aviary in an uproar. So now I have to set up something very nice for them and keep them to themselves. They are lovely birds and I don't regret getting them. I hope they will breed for me in a cage.

Well they sure are beautiful. Too bad they can't be as nice as they look.

Yes they sure do look beautiful! Does one having more spots than the other indicate gender?

Could they be in the breeding mode? If they are they should give you very beautiful chicks. That is the way my Helena was, he attacked anyone that can near. Now they live in their own space.
