new Goulds....

Post by adiekaty » Wed Oct 21, 2009 11:31 am

Hi... Just wanted to share my excitement!!! I just got the 5 gould babies that I have been on a waiting list for!!! YYYIIIPPPEEEEEEEE!!!

Anyhow, they were born Sept. 5 and are weaned and sooooooooo cute! (wish I knew how to add pics!) They are all greyish colored, so it should be fun to watch them mature!!!

I am putting them in the large cage with the male canary.
Wish me luck!!!

BTW, the lovebird babies are 21 days old, and OMG... the cutest ever!

thanks... Its so funny watching them... I think they think the canary is their mama...lol (its a male too) anyway, they are eating on their own, but a few are begging from him...he is probably mad at me, its like I put him in charge of a preschool clas, lol

BTW, Found a great cage a goodwill, 4x3 and shaped like a house... LOVE IT!!! it was only 30$!

cant put them outside in the aviary until after the 1st molt, and winter is over... Although here in texas, winters are mild!

treat that cage for mites and give it a proper bleach cleaning ... some times cages have the worst possible things for our pets if you just toss them in there before giving it a proper sanitization (i think i just invented that word)
Goulds, Owls, Gold Breasts, Stars, Zebras, Societies
An obscene number of chicks and eggs
And an incredibly rare St. Goldena Breast finch
Anyone want some finches???

Lol, you're a hoot. But this is very true! The person could have donated the cage because their pet died of an illness. And even if that is not the case, the occupants may have had mites or lice or such. Good call Finch Fry :!:
