I soak my seeds the way Mike Fidler explains in these videos, only I just use my seed of choice. You can also replace the virkonS for bleach or another product if you'd like.

Rinsing is not necessary with this method. I use 1/2 tsp. Virkon-S to 1 liter of seed and 1 1/3 liter of water. Let it sit for maximum of 2 hours. Then drain and set the container aside. Once the seed has chitted, it goes in the freezer. When I make up eggfood, I add the chitted seed straight from the freezer.
