What to add to water and when?

in my opinion there is no need to add supplements if they dont need it like the seed you dont need to add anything to the seed if they are eating normally,giving millet spray as an occasional treat is fine but if you feed it constantly they may abandon their normal seed for that,when you buy condition seed from a pet shop the only difference is it smells of anniseed and you can do that yourself just get some of your normal seed and put it in a jar with a star aneese pod and you get the same effect without the price......in the winter sometimes i would add vitamins to the water fountains,but not the bird products that are vastly inflatedly priced ...i went to the pharmacy and bought baby vitamin drops and put one drop per drinker and the top of the bottle was shaped so only one drop came out at a time,but apart from that dont get bogged down giving them everything you think may make them fitter...you only need it really when a bird is ill.....after all they dont get that sort of stuff in the wild
