I can't imagine the relief you just be feeling now that things seem to be settling down back at home. Best wishes for no more birds passing. Hopefully you can enjoy the rest of your vacation in Hawaii. Are you getting to do any birding - got pics??? :D

I am so glad to hear that there are no more deaths. I pray that the situation has resolved itself. I have done the probiotic preventatively when I thought my birds may have gotten something in their gut and that seemed to help, so maybe you've got it dealt with now. [-o< [-o<

Lori, I'm very glad to hear that you've had no more losses. Hopefully, the mealworms were the culpirt and you've got it taken care of. Enjoy the rest of your vacation and please keep us updated! :)

PS and PLEASE post pixtures of Hawaii and any native birds you get shots of! =D>

Got home late last night. During my vacation I lost 5 birds. Four gouldians and a BCCB. Three of them had shown signs (mild) of illness prior to my leaving. I still think it was the worms and have thrown them all out. The Eumo never really sat on her eggs and they turned out to be infertile under the other two hens that I gave them to. The good news is that I did come home to some new chicks! My first gouldians....six chicks that look like they are being fed well. Also my pair of Black cheeks (Stevie and Timon) have four chicks. So I have that to look forward to and no more obviously sick birds. I guess it could have been worse. :|

Very sorry to hear that you lost more birds, and I'm glad you hopefully found the culprit.
Hope you had a beautiful relaxing vacation despite the worries at home. Looking forward to some pictures!
Congrats on the new chicks!

Congrats on the new additions. That makes it a little easier to deal with the losses, but still so sorry for the loss of the other birds. Enjoy the hatchlings.

Congratulations on the chicks...so sorry again for the loss you suffered. Try boiled grated eggfood...my BC love it and wait every morning for me to give them a fresh dish for their young.
