Re: Fading Society, Think I Lost Him
It can be VERY hard.
Some times you just don't know what causes their death. and by the time you see them in a weak condition, it is too late to do much of anything.
I had that kind of problem with fresh water fish. Things would be fine, then they start dying. Very frustrating. My wife wants me to start up the tank again. It was nice when it was going.

Dante, another thing to consider is the exact age of a bird in stores most times is an unknown....it may have been he was older and it was his time to go. He may have had some underlying conditions that also may have caused him to pass.

Yes, that is right. There were a bunch, probaly old ones. The thing is I didn't get to pick out my exact two!! She said "Specifics is too hard, there are too many, do you want light brown or dark brown" I problay would have picked out a different one. I'm so sorry to hear about your little boys passing. He could very well have had problems you couldn't see from being in an over crowded cage at the pet store. But he had a good life with you and I'm sure he knew you loved him. Societies are the sweetest little birds. It's hard not to fall in love with them.

I have to say I agree. Just because theres "too many birds to get the one you want, so you get what you get" is no excuse in my book. And not good customer service.Bluebonnet wrote:Dante, you sure got some lousy service at that place.DanteD716 wrote:Yes, that is right. There were a bunch, probaly old ones. (he was kind of ugly...)You're the paying customer, for goodness sake. Shame on them.
If that happens again I hope you'll be your polite and pleasant self and firmly request they box up the ones YOU want, or ask if they can find someone else who can help you.
I would want the one I want, I was paying for it.
I mean, I remember getting goldfish over the yrs and the tank was filled with tons of goldfish. I was always asked which ones I wanted, and I always got it.
It just takes a little more time/effort is all.

My condolenses, this is very saddening, poor guy. At least you gave him a great life, while he was with you. I applaud you for that.
