Sorry for not replying sooner - I click my birds' lights on about seven a.m. and off again about eight p.m. I am my own auto-timer  . I have thought about an auto timer but so far it hasn't been necessary.

The AeroGarden that I have clicks on about five a.m. and this usually starts the finch gang out with whistles and meeps. I only have the AeroGarden going in the winter months so that I can provide fresh greens for the birds.
