That's what I was thinking, too, Deborah. I'm hoping that is the case. The one on the left is the one that colored up after I got them. I can tell them apart still. I also read that the female does not have red feathers behind the eye and that the male will have just a little, and that is the case here, one doesn't and one does.

Karen I agree. Those look like a pair. Often the hens can be brightly coloured too, their mask is usally (but not always) near the eye and the males extends further back. Also the male should have a few red feathers at his vent and the female not.
Marius they are characters. Not all are overly aggressive. I don't find my lot are, just curious and willing to try anything new. The aggressive males are usually good breeders, but can also be the ones that toss others babies. Just keep an eye out if they start breeding too close to an existing nest.
