So slight change of plans. I found a local bird shop that is run out of a house here in Eugene by a wonderful woman that seems to really care about birds. The store also acts as a rescue to birds that are unwanted by previous owners and rehomes them. They had a pair of finches (1 hen Lady Gouldian and 1 male Star Finch). She said that they had been together for the past 18 months. I watched them for some time and they seem to get along fine and they both looked extremely healthy. Long story short, I bought both of them for 50 bucks (which seems like a good deal to me) and am going to pick them up next week when the F030 arrives. Should I look into getting them a partner of their own species now or since they have been together so long and get along are they fine without the same species? I would like to add in a pair of society finches now but that may change if you guys think I should try and find a male Gouldian and female star finch.
