So what fountain did you use before this one?
Also, what do you have on the floor of your aviary? It looks like regular tiles and then you have news papers located under "trouble spots." Probably where you have perches above.
As I said earlier, this is a fantastic set up. I envision doing something similar to this some day with the exception that I wanted to set up a small koi pond in the floor with a mini waterfall leading into the koi poind and then having the water exit the pond, filter, and then recycle to the waterfall with a little pump. Not sure how realistic it would be to have that amount of water around for the finches as well as what ever stuff is needed for the fish water. I am sure someone has dont this before... i hope.

I had a smaller table top fountain before. The floor is tiled and I do put down newspaper under the perches. I change it daily.
The pond sounds great. I would be concerned about the birds drowning if the water was very deep. Especially babies that have just fledged.
I had one fledging to drown about two months ago. It fledged while I was at work and I found it in the water and it wasn't even deep.

That's beautiful Donna.. You are making me re-think my aviary vs making the entire room an aviary. Stop me!.. I'm getting the 'fever' too..dfcauley
Thanks Liz. That is chickweed. I put fresh in there each day.
I'm still trying to find out what chickweed is. I think I have some in my yard and still trying to define it. Don't want to offer it without knowing.
Guess that was a distraction to stop me from converting a room.

I have seen pictures of chickweed but I am still not sure the pictures don't show it very good i think I have to have it with the amount of weeds i have in my garden but just not sure.I would like someone to send me some to be sure![]()
Here's a pretty good picture - it's very small, low growing, sends out runners... very easy to pick as it's runners are thin and on the surface. Easier than pulling dandelions.
