Never a dull moment! The little egg may just have been deformed, too. I put it under the society who's sitting on the owl eggs (figured it probably wouldn't hatch after bouncing around, but you never know), and even she, who loves anything egg- or baby-related, booted it out of the nest.

Poor egg. If you can't find a pair to incubate it and you end up having to discard of it, break it open first and see if all the appropriate insides are there, or if it was "deformed" internally as well.
