Be prepared in case of problems to have alternative accomodation for any birds that won't fit into the community.
It's no good going to all the trouble of providing a nice new set up if you haven't provided a back up cage.Hopefully you won't need it.

I had a few cages and I am glad I did, they are happy now and turned out to be a pleasant pair of finches!!!!

Poohbear- That is sound advice! We have four cages and one hospital cage, and there is now way we will get rid of the others once the aviary is made. We are going to try to come up with a design where we can divide the aviary up later if we need to. Don't know exactly how, but between my husband and my dad, we shold be all good.

Cindy- The pictures of your St Helena's are so cute! Not sure I will be able to pass them up when the time comes. Don't think I will. :)
So did yours end up in their own cage permanently?

Donna- This gives me hope. I am really hoping all birdies will get along, and we can give them a much larger living space!

They do have their our place! They built a lovely nest. The stand with their cage on it is on the other side of my desk. The male is singing, he must know we are discussing him!!!!!

They are really interesting, the male was wonderful to watch as he wove his nest on top of the bamboo nest.

Please let me know if you get a pair. I hope you do, you'll enjoy them. They like hiding in plants and lots of coco fiber....tons!!!!
