Steve, the new cage looks great. As I said before, I have three of the singles & they are great cages. Just a note of caution, the long feeders that come with the cage might pose a danger. They fit extremely tight against the cage bars due to the design & my little society Poppy somehow got his foot slipped between the feeder & the cage bar. By the time my husband & I found him he had beat his wings till the feather tips broke & loss of circulation to his foot caused him to lose that foot. He gets around fine now with a stump but I keep him in a small flight cage because he gets knocked off the perch easily. I no longer use those feeders at all. one bad experience was enough for me.

You should find them near the light bulbs. I have about 30 of them! I think the brand is something like American Lighting (?), and they are by far the cheapest I've found so far. They are just the under-the-cabinet lights that can be put in place with screws. I also pulled the bulbs and replaced with full-spectrum lights, making the total cost around $19 or so. For one cage it's a steal, the light is good and the birds (per the info I've read) will be healthier for it.

I went to WalMart on my way home from work yesterday, and I found what you were talking about. So, the cage has a light. It's not full spectrum yet - I'll get there soon, but at least the darker side of the cage is now lit. Last week I bought a light timer from a garage sale for $1, so it's all set up to turn itself on and off without me getting involved.
The birds are doing great in their new cage - lots of chirping and singing, and plenty of flying. I'm really hoping to get 4 society finches very, very soon - perhaps tomorrow, if I can get up to the bird store (about 40 miles from my house). That huge cage seems very empty with only 4 little birds in it.

Glad you thought of the timer. Having the lights come on and go off at the same time everyday is better for the birds. I have a night lite that stays on also, this gives them just enough light to get back on a perch should they come off during the night.

Nice! VERY nice!
Don't forget to quarantine the new guys! Just in case!
I like the pellets...what I don't like is the colouring in the pellets and we don't seem to be able to get the Zupreem pellest that are not coloured!
My parrots all eat the uncoloured pellets...including the budgies...

A bird in the hand...requires some serious washing up...
Re: The new cage came!
I am new to this and I apologize if my question is answered someone else on the forums. Could you direct me to where I can get a cage like yours? Thanks.

Sorry so late, all - - I was on a mini vacation at my in-law's house.
The cage is great - the birds absolutely love it (there are 10 in there, very comfortably), and they fly around quite a bit. It seems to be a very high quality cage, too - the bars are nice and strong, the stand is very sturdy, etc. And the slide-out grate is fantastic, too. Cleaning is a snap, especially considering how large the thing is.
Because somebody asked, I bought the cage from this website here. They were as cheap as any, and it's a real HQ cage (some of the other websites sell the knock-off version, which may or may not be as good as this one). They were fast, and service was great. The box it came in was packaged well, and shipping is free. So, there you have it. I love the cage.

I'm glad you still like your cage Steve!
I'm almost wishing I purchased the full double instead of the single I have.
I may try to rig up something to help catch the seeds and grasses that still make their way to my floor.
The seed hoppers really help. I put a fabric backing on the rear of the cage to help with flying poops (so my wall doesn't get it!). That works very well!
