I too agree that you keep him....or send him to me  I have plenty of room to let him grow and color

I would think that the blue would stay since it has developed later.... I will definately kepp him and watch what develops with subsequent moults. I am beginning to think that since it happens with the pastels only so that it is just another expression of the lack of black.
I have a new fellow beginning to color out and I will docunent his head color development more closely.
I had actually paired a few BH males with BH yellow bodied females to try and produce more BH dilutes. I think they are beautiful and I get request for them. Now if it happens to start a line of Blue heads...... how fun would that be. The problems I can see with that is that if the color developes later you would have to hold on to them for a while to see of they get Blue.
I would love to see what this bird will look like when the next moult happens and he gets rid of his juvie feathers :D
PM me on how much you are asking...... may be a way to get that shipping crate to me

I had one with the same exact coloring on the head. Same color too a BH Pastel Blue. He actually passed away last week - was an older bird. He kept the color but none of his babies appear to have gotten the same blue on their heads.

If I may ask what is she asking now for them? It was $300.00 right?

No - these are the ones she was originally asking $400 for.
She then kept dropping the price but no one was biting so now she's got them at $300.
I told her MY price for BH Pastels is $225 which I consider reasonable especially since short of the strange head color they are good size, nice looking birds.

If I brought him with me to Charlotte she requested that I try to get her asking price, but if it wasn't well received, she gave me permission to drop the price but did not want me to go below $200 and I really feel the birds are worth the $225 I would price them at.

Moot really at this point because I will just buy him myself, but I won't buy him at the $300 price because it's way more than what I'd price them at and we have no idea if this color can be duplicated.

Yeah - $65 is less than what I sell NORMALS for :p

But, then again, if someone is buying 11 that warrants a multi-bird discount for me..

Yeah, I sold them to a broker in GA and thought it would be a good outlet. Not..... too much drama for me
Still looking for a reliable and caring broker :D All gouldians are NFSS banded and family color banded with genetic records.

Here are some better pics of my blue head, not as dark as your pastel's head. Just a light blue sheen.

Still pretty, none the less..

Are the birds you are trying to sell from the woman you bought (or your husband bought for you for Valentine's) the lot from that was selling all of them earlier this year?

I was wondering the same thing. He's a beauty, though.

No, not hers. I have most of those set up and breeding. Only a couple of hers were NFSS banded and they were green or red. Older birds. The others I don't know the age but I don't like to sell other people's birds because I just don't know what to tell them...... I will just keep them all (37 of them and 1 hen died, one is a twilrler :? )
Though I did sell an OH dilute to another breeder that requested him. I will just keep them and try to get blues and silver from them...already got some beatiful lilacs from some =D>

The ones I sold were some of my 2009 offsprings.(I had 92 chicks in 2009)...though they were not NFSS banded as I just started the NFSS bands in 2010. I ordered 50, then 80, and just received my second order of 80 this week (Paula loves me) My birds are producing... over 150 chicks so far this year  I love the breeding and learning about the mutations but in the process of my hobby I get a lot of chicks. I will do the fairs until I can find a good broker then I will sell that way. It is just very hard for me to leave home to do the shows..... but I do enjoy them :D

LOL.... Carol is waiting on blues... and I thought you were waiting for someone to share the shipping. I'll get some birds to you eventully. The international airport did get opened 2 weeks ago but the temperature is in the 90's here. They won't fly them with it being this hot.

Misty are you going to be selling other peoples birds at the fair? Or just the ones you breed. I plan on doing the obile show in July and already have a few spoken for there. Also the show in Tallahasse in August. Possibly Pensacola in October. Many of the birds I have right now are not colored out enough to sell.
I had never really thought of a broker until I was contacted by one through an ad I had placed on Ebay classifieds. Then I got to thinking that that may be a simpler way to move some. But it would have to be a special seller....one that knows how to care for the birds and not one that is all about the buck  I would rather sell them cheaper to a broker than selling them cheap at the fairs. I am sure other vendors would prefer that also. From what I have seen around this area it is hard to sell them for what they go for up north.
