My zebra finch does the same thing , before he was in a much smaller cage , now that I built a bigger cage and put him inside he started doing that , although mine is pretty old and couldnt fly properly , maybe mine is just training his wings or something I am not sure , he doesent look up , he looks around as if he wasnt flapping his wings ..
Although he doesent extends his whole wings , just the "shoulder' part of the wing ...

My male Gouldian does this. I tried to google it, but did use the word twirling so didn't find anything. I'm new to Gouldians and have never heard of this before.Gunnar wrote: Sounds like it could be twirling, Does he move her head around alot or stare up at the cieling?
