My bird room is ready for my finches....finally!

Am posting some pics below.

The room has a small closet with sliding doors but I told Hubby not to install them. I decided to just put up a shower curtain on a rod so I can access the whole closet easily rather than sliding the doors back and forth all the time.

I just have one plant and my Teak rocking chair at the moment. I sit in there now and dream of how to place the cages and decorate the room.

I also bought a Delonghi Oil Filled radiator for controlling any extreme temperature swings during the coldest of days. And for Christmas Hubby got me a Shark Steamer so I can clean the floors without having to use chemicals.

We are currently getting ourselves moved into the house and then the birds will come after that!

That room is going to be fabulous! Can't wait till you get moved in, get settled, and can start working on the cages and decorations--and then we get pictures and get to live vicariously! I use the Delonghi radiators for supplemental heat and have found them to be the best for a room.

Thanks everybody. I truly am looking forward to filling the room with birds and plants. Then I can sit in my official bird watching rocking chair and enjoy the show. Hmmmm.....maybe I need a popcorn machine in there too!

I have one of those heaters also. They work great. I keep an aluminum pie tin on top filled with water to make some humidity. Great for the birds and the plants. I keep my heater outside the aviary screen, though. Your space looks wonderful. What happy fids you're going to have. Now the addiction begins. .. but what a wonderful addiction it is. I pondered for years about my aviary, but have not regretted it one bit. I get so much enjoyment from the birds and their song. You will love it. Make sure to share pictures of all your new birds.

By the way, I love popcorn, too!

Thanks guys! Only us bird lovers can understand the excitement of creating a special place for our birds. I mentioned to a relative about getting my bird room ready. She gave me the weirdest look! But I was polite and didn't giver her weird looks back when she talked about her sewing room.

That is funny and your bird room is really nice. Since I got my finches that is all I talk about. My coworkers think I have gone to the birds. They just don't understand.
