I cant tell if thats a second babies butt or a shadow. Im thinking if they laid back-back in two nests the fertility in this last one is going to be lower. But still quite amazing to have them lay so close together in two different places and still get babies from both!

I don't think that should make a difference really.
There were 3 eggs in the (for lack of better term) the Star nest. One was buried, so I'm assuming a dud.

Not sure exactly when the Owls began this next clutch in the Easter basket. I noticed that one Owl, was missing around the 27th of November (or there abouts), so they could easily have had another clutch.

Some Gouldian breeders (who are in it for the money and have no conscience) will allow their birds to breed continuously, removing the eggs to foster, so that their hens will continue to lay (which they do). Needless to say these hens probably don't live very long lives.

If they pop out of the Easter basket again, I'll try to snap a better picture. Don't want to freak them out too much I don't have any more Stars to sit on this batch :-D.

Well, managed to snap a picture.
So I see one baby clearly, and is that another one to the right of him, or not?

Hmm, you don't see the mealworm?? I swear there is a mealworm in there.
You do feed mealworms don't you?? How can you be so sure it's not a mealworm??

Never said It couldn't be a mealworm, it's entirely possible, as I do feed them
Now let's hope the chick eats the mealworm (not the other way around )

Hahahahha. smoooooosh it!!!!!!!!!

About the egg. Its got a nice red tinge to the inner color so something might still be stirring in that one.
Yep it is pointy. Looks like a little UFO. Betcha it was easier on the hen to pass. She must have been thankful for that one after all the eggs shes laid around the place #:-S
