How did I miss this part of the thread!??! Lovezebs that would be amazing lol. I know my aunt ginene would definitely would or would have already sent me hens! The egg fostering would also be great!!!! Like my amazing aunt said, in the future, there are many species I'd like to keep.

Well Brian, I tried :-D
Look up this type of bird (a SHOEBILL) and show the picture to Mom. Tell her that that's the bird you really want. :-D Maybe then she'll be more agreeable to cute little finches. LOL !!!
