Spice Finch Behaviour

Hi I am posting this for my mom. She has recently purchased 2 spice finch. The breeder bought them in the spring and doesn't know much about them. She isn't sure if one is male and one is female.

One of the finches keeps doing the mating dance (I think). Bum in the air while nudging the other.

The other one, is puffed up alot and is not interested in her.

Now my mother has the 2 of them in with a green singer.

Is this normal behaviour? My mother doesn't want to give the finches back but if it is always puffy, I'm thinking it could be sick. Or older and isn't into mating.

Any suggestions would help my mother greatly.

Puffed up a lot is not a good sign of a healthy bird. You need to move the bird into a hospital cage and give the bird some warmth.
