Hi guys, got a question- i have 2 finch hens, one of them lays eggs, and recently the other one has begun plucking the little gals feathers- are they safe to keep together? They are seperated currently, but aren't happy about it- I heard of a spray to put on meeps feathers to keep the other one, nilla, from doing it, but wondered if its safe to spray her before the feathers come back in? Also, they had a nest, but removed it, would it be safe to put them together again before her feathers come in? Thanks
Robin

Hi everyone, well, i seperated them for a bit, returned them again in a larger cage, things were fine till today- meep laid another egg in the seed dish, and nilla tried to 'help' her- they have nest fiber and coconut fiber hoping to distract the behavior- any suggestions???

You may want to try a smaller seed dish that they can't sit in. Or I've seen other folks on this forum buy feathers and provide those in the hope that they'll be more attractive than the live bird's feathers. Good luck!
