He's gorgeous! The other one I picked up, they were unsure of the sex and nothing I'm finding indicates one or the other. I'll try to get pics soon, but here is the info I have:-The male sings and hisses and charges toward the other bird. I've read that courtship displays of Orange weavers look pretty scary, so I don't know. It seems like aggression to me. He isn't constantly doing this, but every couple hours for a minute or so. I separated them just in case.
-The female/juvenile has blotchy orange on part of the breast. Not the dark bright orange like full color males exhibit, but pale orange/dark yellow.
