Hello everyone,
I have a banglese breeding pair in a cage of 3*2 feet. Can i add a pair of Shafttail Finch in the same cage ? Can these both species live together in a cage ?

hi, you can add them but they probably wont breed well as the shaft tails are nosey birds and will keep interferring with the society finches(bengalese) nesting box. you might also find at night some bickering going on over the nests as the shaft tails are likely to take over the nest. ive seen it time and time again here in my own home. however they dont seem to fight with each other in general

Four birds is the maximum you would probably want to put in a cage this size. And I'm not sure you would want to mix these two species. I think shafttails are a pushy species, so they may not do well with a passive species, like societies.
