Since finch's bodies are so small and delicate, even a slight overdose can, and since they are already sick, probably will kill them. The antibiotic thing is strange :? , but you can order antibiotics for finches online.

ladygouldian.com has it in a 50g Doxycycline

Can you get to PetSmart and find Ornacyn-Plus. It is a powder it has erythromycin in it. It is for ruffled feathers, eye closing, sitting low on the persch, unusual breathing sneezing respiratory illness. Does she have these symptoms?

I'm so sorry for you! :(

You tried everything you could, so don't beat yourself up. They are so tiny, even if you had taken her to an avian vet or given her antibiotics you might not have been able to save her.

I think it was the right decision NOT to give her medication for humans. They are so small, even a small amount of medication would have been way too much for her!
Walk-in aviary with Waxbills (6 Cordon Bleu, 3 Orange Cheek, 3 Black-rumped, 1 Lavender, ), 1 European Goldfinch, 4 Gouldians, 2 Spice Finches, 6 Owl Finches, 4 Budgies and 2 male Button Quail.
I also have 2 parrotlets, 3 dogs, 1 snake and 3 freshwater fishtanks.
