Success!!
After months of mixing grated/sliced veggies in with my eggfood , and never really being sure if they were eating them or not- Confirmed success!! I pulled the cage down to trim nails today and put it in my small bathroom to keep from chasing them around if they got out on me
put some food in while I was done and had added some grated carrot and chopped spinach in the mix. I sat down on the floor and watched them from a few feet away- and I was shocked to see my little society dive in beak first and start picking out only the carrots!! Then later, when I'd hung the cage back up, I caught the two of them sharing a long piece of spinach, passing it back and forth and eating little bits off the ends. Looked like the spaghetti scene from Lady and the Tramp!! Can't believe watching birds eat has made me so giddy! They're such a treat! Can't wait to get my aviary built and add to the happy family.

Re: Success!!
Yay! I know it's a great feeling. I inspect the food dish everytime I take it out just to see if they're eating the chopped up veggies. It appears my babies will eat everything, but the parents pick through to get what they know/like.
