Wow - I'd suspect she got into a scuffle except for the beak. Maybe panicked and hit herself really hard? Put heat on her so she spends her energy on healing rather than on staying warm. If you have Energize or something like that it wouldn't hurt - it would give her a boost.

Oh, Love of Finches, I am so sorry for your loss. You have been having terrible luck with your finches, and it is always hard to lose them. It does sound like maybe she hit her head on something.

I am sorry to hear you lost your little birdie!

Could there have been something sharp inside the cage? Perhaps a bent wire or something. Maybe she got caught and tried to bite her way out. It wouldn't hurt to just give the cage a good going over with your hand...check for rough spots or bent wires.

You might feel better if you can find the cause of her death.

Try not to stress out too much...you did what you could do...and you held her till she passed....I am sure that was a comfort to her at least.

Oh, I'm sorry. Sometimes there's just nothing we can do - they're just delicate little guys.

I am so sorry for your loss :( .

I planted some bird seed. A bird came up. Now I don't know what to feed it.
