Cage seed guard that works for us !
To help eliminate the mess we needed a way to contain seed hulls in the bottom of the cages - sound familiar. Well, my crafty wife sent me to Lowe's to purchase black nylon screen and black velcro. We cut the nylon screen in appropriate width strips to thread thru the bars and she attached it tightly with velcro and bingo we had very effective seed guards all the way around the cages. I admit , it was a little time consuming but well worth the time. Paul

Is this is like window screening or pool cage screening?
If so be careful the finches do not get their nails caught in it and not be able to get free.

Re: Cage seed guard that works for us !
This is window screening and comes 48 inches wide and the roll is 10 ft long and dont buy the pet grade with larger holes for screening just use the small hole screen. Pictures probably would'nt turn out good so I'll explain a little better.
Measure and do each side of cage individually. Get the velcro at lowes that is self adhesive backed and its 3/4 in wide. Figure how wide you can do your seed guard on each side and cut it that wide so about half way you can weave it once thru the bars to help hold it in place. Cut the strip a couple inches too long so you can apply the velcro at each end that way at the corners you can go around the last bar and attach the velcro to itself. If you take your time and do it neatly it really look good. Most cages in the front you will only be able to use narrow strips but it still helps significantly. Paul
