What do you guys think of this seed blend?!

Post by dnh314 » Mon Oct 22, 2012 7:02 pm

Hi everyone, I spoke to a gouldian breeder that contributed his great success to feeding his birds this. What does everyone think? It's called Finch Cuisine and I can get it locally from the people who make it (http://www.leachgrain.com).

They'll also eat plain white bread but doesn't mean it's healthy for them so if anyone has a non sarcastic and smartass comment I'd appreciate that more thanks

I've never heard of it, but when in doubt, you could always give it in moderation.

Was the breeder you spoke to giving this Finch Cuisine exclusively? Or was he serving it as a treat/supplementary food?

What are you currently feeding your finches, and how are they doing on that diet? Personally, if it were me, I would say, "Different strokes for different folks". What may work for one breeder, may not necessarily work for another. With that said, I would definitely give the Finch Cuisine a try -- especially since it is locally made and since you have at least one breeder who endorses it.

The success of a breeder can have multiple factors that contributes to their success, including the quality of birds, environment, diet, experience, etc.

Good luck!

I think what lou was recommending was try it. If they eat it with little waste then use it. Not all seed may be eaten. It takes a while to find a food that they eat without much waste. I would also supplement them with a good pelleted diet and veggies, eggfoods. JMO.

I looked at the website and they have some good mixtures but no prices!

dnh,
I didn't mean for it to come across that way, That seed co. makes good seed blends, they have been in business for a long time. I have used their feed for my pigeons, one has to remember that that seed companies speed a lot of money on research. If their product wasn't selling they would not carry it. You stated that a breeder contributed his great success to it, isn't that good enough.
Thanks Cindy, reading responses sometimes just doesn't come out the same as hearing it.
