How to use Worm Away

What is the best way to use it for our gouldians? Dosage amount and application? Im worried Im going to dose too much and hurt my birds

I dose in the water, so much easier for me than sprinkling it on food or administering directly in the crop. I find the easiest way to administer medication in the water is to take away all water sources the night before, before lights out. Then in the morning, I fill all waterers with the medicated water. The birds are thirsty and more likely to drink the medicated water. I leave it in all day, then the next morning, I give fresh water. This is the procedure I use for worming and for dosing with S76.

Add ½ teaspoon per 5 fl.oz of clean drinking water OR one drop per 6 oz. of body weight on fruits, vegetables, soaked seed, or softfood OR one drop per 6 oz. of body weight administered directly to the crop. If bird does not respond to treatment or bird’s condition worsens, consult a veterinary Safe for young and adult birds."

I do like Sally with worm away, in the water first thing in the morning after removing all water sources the night before (½ teaspoon per 5 fl.oz of clean drinking water).

How do you know if they have worms? Or is it something you do as a preventative? How often do you do it during the year?

I worm all incoming birds during quarantine.
Symptoms of worms are weight loss, poor feather quality, possible anemia, lethargy during breeding season and susceptibility to illness.
If you feed worms and/or insects you may want to worm at least once a year. For outside aviaries that are exposed to all kinds of insects you may want to worm every 3 months. If you worm often they recommend you vary the brand of wormer.
