Mites in breeding cages

Coud anyone please tell me if it is safe to use Mite spray in Finch nest boxes that contain eggs or chicks. I purchased 3 Quales and got a fair few mites thrown in for free!! Could you also recommend an affective one as the last thing i want to do is cause any harm to my birds. I currently have Stars, Zebras, Becchio's and Jarva's Currently sitting on 18 eggs. I am unsure if is safe to spray in the nest boxes untill the chicks have fledged. Hopefully somebody can guide me down the right road and any information would be very much appreciated....I live in the UK if this of any help.

Can you get Avian Insect Liquidator made by Vetafarm? It is safe to use on all ages of birds, even babies, and in nests. If it is not available to you, I hope some of our UK-based members will chime in with a safe product they have used.

Poultry shield may do the trick ,
There's also a product called Check Mite , hear a lot of fellas raving about it , haven't used it myself .

Not really depends on the personality of your birds..If you think you could remove the chicks from the nest and make a fresh nest without them getting upset or leaving chicks for dead then maybe..the zebra finches wont care but the stars probably will..
and you just dust the nest box with a powder of your choice and replace fresh nesting material..Or otherwise just wait for them to fledge and treat them all with your chosen product wont hert them to have some lice and mites for a short while unless red mite infested ofcourse..if there in a non wooden type cage relocate the cage during the day as some bad mites move out during daylight and hide in wooden crevices and such and wont be able to find the birds again easily..
