this little sweety must have hit the glass at work and was stunned, although I checked on it all day and it didn't move from the safe spot I put it. I put it under shrubs and every hour went and checked on it and it was nodding off. I tossed it in the air once and it did fly to the ground, but then didn't walk or move when I touched it. I was going to bring it home and put it in the basement until I found a rescue, but it was gone 6 hours later, maybe a preditor. So cute! Same size as my Zebbies. Poor baby.
I am pretty sure it's a common yellowthroat according to google search

Aww, poor thing. It looks very young, maybe a fledgling? I 'm not familiar with this type of finch.

Grant I know! that one pic of it looking up was so perfect! it kept looking at me. I hope it lived
@Bhatta I actually don't know, last time I checked on it yesterday at 4 pm it was gone.
Cindy told me she has seen wild finches be stunned for 24 hours after crashing into the windows... SO.... all we can do is hope!
It sure was a great little experience to hold a wild bird. I wouldn't have even known what to do if I didn't have my caged finches. Everyone at work was like "OMG, your going to touch it?" LOL

Nanajennie OMG... they really said that? I would have picked that baby up in a heartbeat! I am hoping that the little sweetie is alright! I am sure just by you being there, making sure it was alright and checking on it when you could gave it a chance to recover! And you were able to get some beautiful pictures!! Crazy bird lady or not you have a bigger heart than most and THAT is what counts! Anyone else who doesn't understand that is missing out on the joy and love we experience from birds.. wild or pets. You certainly are one outstanding person and that is something to be admired and proud of, lady!!
