Hello everyone-
I'm wondering how to integrate brewers yeast into the diet of my birds. As it stands, my birds' diet contains complex B-vitamins, but perhaps at less than optimal levels. Brewers yeast could alleviate this, especially with respect to niacin and riboflavin. How have others added inactive dried brewers yeast to their avian diet? Eggfood, other soft foods, alone...?

Re: Brewers Yeast
When I added it years ago I added it to the hard boiled egg.

@debbie276 : Thanks, Debbie. Have you discontinued use of it? Any reasons why?

Re: Brewers Yeast
I haven't used it in years, didn't really see any difference when I did.

Re: Brewers Yeast
Here's the page from The Finch Information's nutrition and their sources that may be of help if your trying to cover all the nutrients that they need.
http://www.finchinfo.com/diet/nutrients_and_sources.php
If you are supplementing their diet be sure to read the labels and amounts so you don't over supplement.

Re: Brewers Yeast
I honestly can't see the harm in trying it. We have used brewer's yeast for years with horses. For some it worked well and for others there was not a noticeable difference. I agree with Debbie, just double check the quantity to use. Powdered form would be easiest to add to the eggfood or sprinkle very slightly over their fresh veg/fruit.
Good luck and let us know what the results are
