Waxbill Pictures
Just thought I would share some pics I took today of some of my Orange Cheek Waxbills. They are such easy going birds and I just love their colors.

Good pictures. Mine never want to sit still long enough. you had any luck breeding them yet? Mine keep building different nests, but not laying anything.

Yeah, they are extremely active and photographing them is a challenge. I have to take dozens of pics just to get a few good ones. They were showing interests in breeding inside so I recently moved them to the garden aviary to give them better nesting options. They have only have been out there a few days so they haven't built anything yet. One pair is very active and it looks like they are getting ready to build in one of the bushes. How are yours doing so far?

Orange cheeked Waxbills would be the first pair I would get if I got more finches. Really cute.

Orange Cheeks are great little birds and were at the very top of my list when I started getting back into waxbills. I've got lots of different species in my collection now and the Orange Cheeks are still probably my favorite followed by my Java Sparrows.
