Normal or unusual RHPF chick

Post by Smurf » Thu Jul 31, 2014 5:54 am

This chick fledged last week, it was from a pair of pied RHPF's which i seperated after producing 2 full clutches of clear eggs and the hen then went on to lay 2 eggs that i placed under bengies not expecting much, this chick hatched from these 2 eggs.

To me the flight feathers look frosted and alot lighter than normal for fledglings, father was heavy pied normal and mother med pied SG, fledgling looks normal green without the typical yellow beak of pieds and if it was pied showing in flight feathers they would normaly be solid white coloured.

What do you think normal or unusual ?

I am not familiar enough with RHPF to know if it is normal or unusual. I do love the photos! Hopefully someone with more PF experience will know.
