Horray for more eggs!
That's great! They didn't waste any time!

You mentioned they were acting different? More nest-ey? So that's a good sign!

Yes things again have changed, I notice that now she is again starting to munch more on the cuttlefish and also already spends more time in the nest, UNLIKE that previous time, so Tuesday when I look I should see 3 eggs..... She don't rock and is strong and fit, she gets eggfood everyday.

I can see through the shadecloth in that area on the roof, so when they break for a coffee break at the water or so, I peeeeeek quickly, I put a light cloth over the roof on that side the nest is on, so just pick it up and look, takes 2 seconds.

Anyway, this time around already they are showing a large difference in ways and the actions.

So, lets hope, so again lets see, if we get 7-8 eggs then when she starts sitting on them that will put me at September as follows:

Last of 8 eggs coming Sunday (today she has 2 already)
Sitting on them from Sunday coming for 15 days ;
D Day should be September 21st for the first chicks.

Does the sun help to speed up the process in all ways? because we are now in Spring and days are warmer. They getting nice sun now.

Thanks - hows my sums?

I should have 3 eggs tommmmooorrroooowwwwwwwwww =D>

That's a good question on the sun.

I know they feed the babies more often during daylight hours, so it stands to reason that the babies may develop faster if you have more hours of daylight.

As for in-egg development and so forth, I don't think it has an impact. Perhaps some of the more experienced outdoor breeders will know on this better!

Fingers crossed for babies!!

Well, I looked now again through the shade cloth as she went to eat, and yes, another egg, so we have 3 in 3 days...

I notice she a lot upstairs now so maybe she sitting on them already before all the eggs are laid?........ they both sleep with the eggs so again maybe they sit on the eggs all night?.....

Anyway, lets see if we get egg 4 Wednesday...... =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

My little male is a naughty "and I know it kinda bird" he knows that when I cut the carpet that slides in the bottom that I made a mistake and cut it just shy of the length of the cage so, I try put another solid piece of fabric on the end on the slit so he cannot get to the carpet as the end is not finished off, so he pulls away the fabric, digs deep and pulls up the carpet, then tries to get nesting material, when he sees me coming to the cage he turns and acts like he is eating on the floor, ha ha what a character  .... They are funny little birds.

So, I looked again now and we now have 4 eggs =D> =D> , BUT it seems like she is already sitting on the new eggs?........... they are hardly seperated......

So, 4 eggs....... =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

Since the help of everybody here and the Calcibird, egg food etc it has made a MASSIVE DIFFERENCE, the female is like another bird now, strong and a super "flyzoner" loves flying, unlike the condition she was in before, she is fit, strong and healthy, thanks again to all who kindly helped me.

Tuesday Sept 2nd we had 3 eggs, I have not been here in a while DUE TO an attack on my computers, been in and out of repairs and seem to have been bombed from all sides, very bad few days.......

Anyway...... we found more eggs as days past and today we have 7, or I found 7 about 2 days ago, so 7 is the final tally, they have been sitting on them from BEFORE all got laid, both in nest most times.

Today is the 9th day since they started sitting on the first egg, SO... I should have chicks ( the first out ) in about round the Tuesday 16th..... BOY all these working outs are driving me nuts

OK, lets prey [-o< [-o< [-o< [-o< [-o< ( tomorrow I have my birds 4 months). =P~

Thursday Sept 11th. Tuesday I should have the first egg cracking, egg shattering moving experience.......( my family's 2nd attempt) I have had my birds 4 months today, so I think they are about 6 months old in total.

This is the 2nd attempt, the first was a no go for sure, as they were still young.

So, I have good feelings about Tuesday coming, lets see if the first of the 7 say HI!!!!!!!!!!

They sleep in the nest together unlike the first attempt, she eats LOTS of egg food and c fish, and she is very strong and healthy.

Well Tuesday should be D Day, today I awoke to find the male sicky with a wet rear end, and very uncomfortable, was not constipated just did not look good.

After running around got hold of a nice doctor on the West coast, he steered me to get Protexin and Enrovet, so it is now in the throws of trying to get the male to digest it, the Protexin over the egg food is easy, but the Enrovet is bad tasting so a .2 of a milligram in 100mg water tastes weird, and that's the size of his water bowl.

Hopefully he gets well soon.

He is hungry and eats well, flies well, just very wet at the back...

So......... ROLL ON TUESDAY. =D>

Glad to hear you got some meds. If the water tastes bad, you may need to give the Enrovet by beakto make sure he gets it and drinks his water.

From Saturday till now a few things changed from a life threatening ill male to back to health etc as the Pain in the BUTTT thread revealed, BUT today is D DAY for me to stand a chance of getting the first hatched egg from the latest batch of 7, when I can peak I will take a quick look, today should be the day.

I managed to peek in the top today they both came out for about 3 minutes long........ was weird, all chirp chirp and all, they never BOTH out!

So, the first attempt we had when you look at the egg inside the bottom part has a line and the egg yolk is at the bottom, this time I peeked and shone in a LED light, the eggs some are quite a lot more full and bright yellow.

So............. is that good news?

Thanks.
