What medications/vitamins?

Post by The Orchid Boy » Fri Nov 21, 2014 1:05 am

Hi, I don't have my pairs of Gouldians yet but.... Is there a list of medications or vitamins I should always keep on hand just in case?

Thanks!

I'm sure this topic may have been covered perhaps under a more general discussion for all finches, but off the top of my head for Gouldian specifically:
Vit - good general vit and electrolyte (I give one via their drinking water)
Supplements - charcoal, cuttlebone (or calcium type supplement), kelp (iodine) and they will also take or use rock salt.

For all birds I generally keep these basic medications on hand:
Antibiotic (broad spectrum that treats respiratory and gut infections)
Anti-coccidiosis
De-worm / anti-parasite
