I'm just imagining a bunch of drunk zebbies... the shenanigans! I grew up with a massive holly tree in my parents' back yard, and every year the robins would eat the fermented berries and get roaring drunk... surely the finches couldn't be far off!

That's funny you mention that, I just heared or read somewhere not to long ago about birds getting drunk. Apparently they had gotten (as you said) into some fermenting fruit (can't recall the variety) and became extremely intoxicated.
Drunk Zebras? I can see it now. Zebbies, hanging upside down from their perches like bats, singing off key.
