No shocked remarks about my 'condition',
This little jewel, will be coming home with me, as soon as I can pry him away from his daddy, Kevin. I want to get in a bit of hand feeding before Baby weans, to form a close bond.
I'll be getting my first baby visit in a few days, so should have more pictures.

Well Dylan.... it's called stupidity, on my part.
Little Kenzie, was learning to fly. He would fly around the kitchen, doing zoomies and landing on my head, having the time of his life.
I would close the baby gate to the hallway and the rest of the house, so that the pups wouldn't go after him. Well baby gates keep dogs out, but don't keep Linnies in, which is something I hadn't considered (hence my stupidity).
My darling little boy was zooming around while I was doing dishes, investigating everything in his path. Then he launched himself right across the baby gate into the hallway.
Our Katy, took a flying leap into the air and grabbed him. I screamed at her and she dropped him on the floor... He was still alive when I picked him up. He looked at me with surprise, chirped once, and then was gone.
It absolutely broke my heart.

What a heartbreak. It is always hard to lose pets, but when you have a special bond with one, it makes it even more difficult. My Scooter is a terrier mix and as such, he can't be trusted with my birds. He got an Owl finch one time. Not his fault, he is faster than I am. Not Katy's fault, she was just doing what dogs do.
When these accidents happen, they can be just devastating, as we find it hard to forgive ourselves. I hope one day you can think about having another Linnie, I think you really enjoyed having a bird that you could connect with.

It really was a heartbreaking incident, most especially when he was so young, and so incredibly incredibly sweet.
I have considered another Linnie, but somehow it just doesn't feel right for some reason.
Instead I now have my 'little big boy Charlie' to raise, and house break, and socialize, and obediance train, and.....
He's definitely not a bird, but he is incredibly sweet....
