Brooder temp as chick gets older?

Post by a_gouldian » Wed Aug 03, 2016 12:00 am

We are having success hand feeding an owl finch chick that is 8 days old today. It is getting larger, starting to grow a little down, and is eating well. The brooder is set at 93F and sometimes it may go up to 95F. At what point should be lower the temp setting and is done more than once while the chick is in the brooder.

This is the first hand fed chick that we have gotten this far with after two other attempts with different species. I think a big difference is the new brooder that we constructed with a temp. control.
