I have a pair of black cheeked zebra who quickly went into nesting mode and sat in the nest diligently. But one day they stopped sitting in there, but I could tell there was something going on because I stuck my finger in the nest and could feel the warmth of babies. But the parents never stayed in the nest (ever) I would catch them every once in a while sneaking in to feed, but they were a very stealthy couple. I feared the babies were not being nourished. But to my surprise about 5 days ago 4 little babies were sitting on the perch. 4- no wonder mom and dad were not in the nest, there was no ROOM.
I have 2 boys and 2 girls. They are adorable! I'll try to band tonight. Yikes. Have not banded in about a half year.
