My gouldians are so smart....

Post by Kiko » Mon Dec 22, 2008 12:45 pm

I read on the forum how some gouldians won't try new foods, or use the bath.....

My two love any new foods. Greens, brocolli, apple, whatever I put in the cage they eye briefly, and then the female always tries it first. If she "survives" the male will try it.

I also switched to a water buddy waterer, and it only took a couple of days before I saw her using it, and later, him, and was able to take out the old tube waterer.

While they will not bathe in a large dish, I have a small dish that hangs on the side that they like to dip themselves in.

They are so smart! Do you think I am a teeny bit proud of my beautiful birdies?

Sounds great! Mine eat and take a bath (imersed in water) every day. They eat anything I put out there. But I credit that to the other birds teaching them to do so. They LOVE corn on the cob and cucumbers.
