Breeding cage Q?

Post by summert85 » Mon Mar 16, 2009 11:25 pm

I've only use the 30x18x18 breeding cage for my finches. But was wondering if anyone here have successful breeding in a 24x16x16?

Some birds will breed in smaller cages than that...but is it ethical? I don't see the pleasure in keeping birds in cramped quarters.

I know quite a few breeders use that smaller sized cage successfully but I can't - I feel bad enough keeping them in the 30x18x18 size.

Some of my friend doing just fine breeding Gouldian in a cubic 16 cage. But I personally dont think that was good, either for the birds or the breeders. I try to keep my bird in a cage as large as possible, that's why I came up with an aviary
