Does anyone here know where I can get a pair of Owl Finches from in the UK?
They are beautiful little birds and i'd like to add some once I get a larger cage sorted out
Preferably North-West England, in the Manchester area
I will ask in my local pet shop on Tuesday once I get there but I thought you people would be best to ask since you're likely to know decent breeders

i know they do ship out plenty owls to the UK from holland and Belgium , when we bring them in to the petshop aka exporter we get 5 euro's for an owl , maybe its cheaper for you to take the boat to the Netherlands and getting you some birds , you will save plenty money

I wouldn't want to travel to another country for them personally, I think it would be too stressfull for the little birds! And I don't have the time or money to go to another country lol!
I will keep an eye out though, my pet shop may be able to get me in touch with someone as they seem quite good at ordering in specific breeds for people

There is a website in the UK for finches, I just can't remember what it is called right now. Poohbear posted about it, so when he notices this thread, he will probably post it. Anyway, that would be the best place to find birds in your area.

Addicted to Finches, yes I do admit it.
I pray they never find a cure.

Gouldians in the UK should not be more than £50 a pair unless they are something special...
Check out 'Birdtrek UK' for bird sales...a totally free site and the most reliable.Run by an enthusiast and breeder himself.
Another is 'Birdtrader UK' where there are owls for sale but I think in Edinburgh...too far away for you.Be warned if using Birdtrader..the telephone numbers are their own high cost numbers...If you phone somebody on there ask for their landline number and call them back or it can cost you a bomb.
