Collared Warbling-Finch

Hey guys, so the hubby and I purchased a single male collared warbling-finch today. They original thought he was a collared warbler but after doing research we've figured out that he's actually a collared warbling-finch. He's very beautiful and passive but we can't seem to find much on the poor guy. We give all our finches a diet of seeds, sprouted seeds, fruits/veggies/greens, and mealworms, to those who will eat them (i.e. stars, saffrons, weavers) and I did read that they are omnivores so we will be providing him with live food but I was wondering if there's anything important that we should know. I will take pictures of him later once he's a little bit more settled. Right now he's keeping my female white hooded nun company since she has no mate either. They are both housed with a single male gouldian and a single male shaftail that we are trying to find homes for and everyone seems to be getting along. We're hoping to get a male white hooded nun at the North County Bird Mart tomorrow and I'm going to cross my fingers for a female Collared Warbling-finch now too!

Congratulations on your newest finch!! Glad to heard they are all getting along. I've never heard of that kind of finch but best wishes with him and getting a mate for him. Have fun finch-shopping!!
