When I put the perches back in the cage I decided to lower them all about 8 inches so they would have more room near the top of the cage. I always had the top perches pretty high in the cage but I immediately noticed how much more flying my Finches are doing now! They are zooming around the top part of the cage much more easily with the extra room.
I am glad I decided to change the perch height as they seem to really love flying around with less obstacles. When I look back I see that I wasn't making good use of the cage space. With the perches so high the lower half of the cage was just wasted space where they didn't go. So now with everything lower...they have more flying room in the top half. Such a simple change sure made a big difference. I am enjoying seeing the new acrobatics moves they are doing now.
I think my Finches are happier now....which makes me happy too!
